This tempestuously rainy and relentlessly weatherful world has been a constant collaborator these days, and how could it not be, as it justly takes its ungrateful and greedily extractant inhabitants to task for their generations of transformational harm. Amidst aqueous deluges from river, sea, and sky, bringing drought, heat, and fire elsewhere, what can a poor banjo player do but try to find some resonance in its liquid lamentations, to bring some expression of climatic discontent to empathize with its strains. Bon voyage!

(Inspired by our increasingly troubled planet's ongoing responses to her occupants' thoughtless incursions, and feeling perhaps escapishly as I have been diving ever more into what can be done with this strange 5-stringed instrument, this album compiles a batch of tunes, songs, and recordings that have been finding their way from the cosmos and into my banjos this year. Continuing my fascination with old-time and traditional music, and unable to avoid my roots as a post-punk bass player, or my interests in droney musics from all over the world, I've decided not to be concerned about fitting my work into any one specific genre, and only aim to let it be what it already is.)
